What?  The NCS members small format show

Where?  Two Locations: Ohio and Colorado

When? Two Months, June and July 2009

Cost? Your entry fee and dues ($45) check payable to NCS, Inc. should be mailed with your one collage entry to the National College Society, 254 W. Streetsboro St, Hudson, OH 44236 at the same time.

The 6th Annual was held in the Lincoln Center on Broadway, New York City. There were 200 artists and 20 award winners. The Awards Judge, Paul Yanko, said.."The small format is a challenge....size restriction forces the artists to a more intimate scale with a new response to the format." "Collage is an unexpected juxtaposition of elements."

"WISH YOU WERE HERE " is a small format show (all 4X6 inch postcard-sized collages). This exhibit gives each participating  member a guaranteed opportunity to display the one collage that they select for entry. There is not any jury (one Awards Judge) and slides are not required. The main annual national exhibit in the Fall has become so large in scope that many artists cannot be accepted. The jury selects only an average of 20% from the total entries.  For this NCS members postcard collage show, 100% are accepted.


Eligibility:
"Wish You Were Here" Collage Post Cards is a competitive exhibition 
OPEN TO New ASSOCIATE AND SIGNATURE MEMBERS OF THE NCS. Inc.

*All international collage artists are welcome to enter this exhibit.
All entries must be original and not have been previously shown in any NCS.  exhibition.
A COLLAGE IS ANY ART WORK CREATED WITH ANOTHER LAYER GLUED ONTO THE SURFACE.

Size Limitations: Limited to NO LARGER OR NO SMALLER THAN 4" X 6" and NO MORE THAN 1/2" in depth. NO EXCEPTIONS.

This Exhibition does not count toward your NCS Signature membership status. Cash awards and merit certificates will be selected by the awards judge.

Late entries will be returned. All submissions of Collage Postcards are to be mounted (NOT MATTED) & centered on a 8" x 10" white mat board. (horizontal & vertical) with the correctly filled out entry form "A" on the back of your entry. Please fill out form "B" and include in your mailing.

Enclose a check for your annual dues ($30) plus the entry fee ($15) - $45 payable to NCS, Inc. or National Collage Society, Inc.

THIS EXHIBITION DOES NOT COUNT TOWARD YOUR NCS SIGNATURE MEMBERSHIP STATUS. Cash awards and merit certificates will be selected by the judge.
Sales: 30% Gallery commission
Liability: THE NCS, INC. and  accepts no liability for damaged or loss of collages, insurance is provided by The Butler Institute Of American Art and Western Colorado Center for the Arts

Mail ONE collage plus DUES AND ENTRY FEE ($45) are mailed to NCS, Inc. in Ohio

* Your collage must be mailed by the United States Postal Service.
* Do not use UPS (United Parcel Service).
* Ask your local post office about Parcel Delivery, Priority Delivery or Express Mail Delivery.
* Obtain two free Priority cardboard mailing envelopes. Use one to ship your collage. Enclose the second one addressed to yourself for return shipment.
* The self-addressed return envelope should have stamps attached, or a check payable to NCS, Inc for the total amount of return mailing, including any insurance you select.
* You need an insured mail receipt form available at your post office. Fill out the label with you name and address. Add the amount of insurance you are buying and then attach the form to your return mailer.
 * DO NOT TEAR OFF the bottom portion of the insurance form because it must be stamped with the date of the final mailing.
 *If you pay for extra postage for insuring Priority Mail, please pencil in the amount of insurance near the return stamps.* NCS, Inc. reserves the right to photograph any entry submitted for the exhibition. NCS, Inc. can refuse to hang any submitted work misrepresented or unsuitablely presented. The entries may not be removed before the close of the exhibition.
