2026 JURIED EXHIBIT

The 2026 42nd Annual Juried Exhibit is being held at the Kingsborough Art Museum, Kingsborough University in Brooklyn, New York, from October 28 to December 18, 2026, and online.

The jury viewed 265 entries from 34 states and 4 countries. The jury accepted 64 pieces.

Seth Apter
New York, NY

Seth is a mixed media artist, instructor, author, and designer from New York City. His artwork has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions and found in numerous books and national magazines. 

He has published two books, The Pulse of Mixed Media and The Mixed-Media Artist, with North Light Media and multiple mixed-media workshop videos with Sketchbook Skool, StencilGirl Studio and North Light Media. 

Seth, an instructor at Pratt Institute in NYC, has held live workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Europe. He designs product lines with Impression Obsession, StencilGirl Products, PaperArtsy, Emerald Creek, WOW, and Aladine.

Anderson Turner, M.F.A.
Kent, OH

Anderson Turner currently serves as the Director of Exhibitions & Collections for the Kent State University School of Art. He also sits on the Board for the National Collage Society as the Archivist for the National Collage Society Teaching Collection of Signature Members.

Cerese Vaden, M.F.A.
Tucson, AZ

Cerese Vaden is a Professor of Art at the University of Arizona. Professor Vaden's teaching responsibilities include courses in printmaking, watercolor, mixed media, artists book, and drawing. A member of the Southern Graphics Council, the Mid-America Print Association, and the Rocky Mountain Print Alliance, Vaden works in etching, relief, watercolor, collage, and mixed media assemblages. Her works have been widely exhibited across the United States and abroad.

Madeline Sorel, M.A. Ed.

Madeline Sorel is an artist and illustrator living in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, New York. Her work has appeared in major publications, including The New York Times and The New York Daily News, and she has illustrated books for both children and adults. She has taught illustration and design at Kingsborough Community College since 2001 and holds an MFA from Marywood University. Passionate about community and collaboration, she also leads inter-generational art programs that bring college students and older adults together through creative experiences.
